I need help
My name is Anneke Glasius, I have recently turned 20 years old and I am a national freestyle skydiver
Last August I competed in the British Skydiving Championships with my discipline being freestyle skydiving, which is a mixture of dance/ gymnastics and moves similar to those performed in ice-skating. It involves fast spins and flips on every axis but most importantly it involves control.
I spent the most part of last year working hard to earn money in order to travel worldwide to places such as Spain, the USA and France so I could receive coaching from one of the world's most renowned aero cameramen, Timothy Porter, and 5 times world freestyle champion, Nils Predstrup.
I achieved my full skydiving licence at the age of 16, being one of the youngest in the country at the time, from that moment I set my sights on practicing in the discipline of freestyle which is considered as one of the hardest disciplines (this is why not many people do it!).
I had a very good year last year, I trained and worked very hard and the outcome of this was a near miss off a bronze medal with 4th place out of 9, my first British Artistic Skydiving Championships.
This next year I plan to have an excellent year with the aim of achieving a gold or silver medal in the British Championships to then move on the 2009 World Championships.
However, I need help ...
Skydiving is not a cheap sport and even though I am working full time this is still not enough to cover the cost of my training, as next year I will also be starting university.
I am therefore in search of sponsorship to help me achieve my goal at the British Championships so I can go on to represent this country in the World championships.
